Why the episode galleries should not be expanded
The episode galleries are fundamentally different from other galleries on this wiki. They do not use DPL to simply gather all images from a specific category. Instead, they are numbered lists of screenshots taken in order.
When I created the episode galleries, my intention was to have a reasonably-sized bank of screenshots to illustrate the show in the highest possible quality, particularly compared to what had been floating around in this regard until then (see User blog:Modernponderer/On screenshots for details). At the same time, it was critical that this bank be as "objective" as possible. Ultimately, I focused on portraying the series exactly as it is in every sense, not as a particular screenshot uploader sees it.

Wiki Maintenance August 2022
Perhaps first the elephant in the room. I’ve been less active here recently. I started a new job and it’s exhausting so I am making fewer edits but I’m still very much here. Anyway: on with the show:
I’ve added a category for images from the TV series which aren’t available on DVD’s called Category:Images from the TV series which are unavailable on DVDs.
I’ve updated all of the references to Valuable Lessons (Andrew Nicholls' book) to template:Valuable Lessons ref because I don’t believe Modernponderer and I actually came to a conclusion and I’m certainly not satisfied with it. This will make it easier to change in the future and can help ensure consistency with it.

Wiki Maintenance March 2022 (Again)
I'm back with another blog post quicker than I'd like to be (no updates on my projects or the things from my last blog post here) because Fandom is updating their Wiki Rules and Blocking Policy and the changes go into effect on April 4th so we need to get this sorted before then. We have a little over a week.
I think we're covered for most of it but there will need to be a few additions to the current guidelines.
I think that we will need to further specify what "bad faith edits and messages" are (i.e. the things that you just get blocked for without a warning) so this is what I'd like to make that list:

Let's start with the themes. First of all of course, there's the original theme, which is arguably the most important song to include on such an album. It's a brilliant song, though it's really unfortunate the season two version isn't included because it's that one that goes from "merely" brilliant to jaw-dropping "at least one of if not the best song(s) I've ever heard" level. I deeply believe that in-depth citations to mark where all the information on this wiki comes from is the best way to go. This isn’t vague blogging about the person who removed a few cite notes recently because they’re not the only one who I’ve seen do this here, but they did remind me to write this.

The state of the TV series
(This was originally intended to be a comment on a discussion post about the franchise, but after writing it I realized it is probably blog post quality!)
Unlike the comics (particularly with the Yen Press re-release), the TV series has essentially been abandoned.
As the DVD releases page makes clear, there have never been any legal DVDs of the show released in North America. But even on other continents, as far as I can tell the last legal DVD volume to be released (the final season 2 volume in English, as it happens) came out in 2012. Since then, all the official releases of the TV series worldwide seem to have been going out of print one by one, with Disney apparently having lost interest in selling it even where it was once relatively po…

Since this is a blog, I feel I should make at least one opinionated post about W.I.T.C.H. here...
Now this isn't necessarily meant to spark debate - though I genuinely appreciate healthy debate, especially on a topic I'm as passionate about as W.I.T.C.H. I'm writing this more because of (aside from the above reason) this: from what I've read all over the Internet, it is exceedingly rare to find a W.I.T.C.H. fan who shares even ONE of these opinions. Actually I'll put it even more bewilderingly: it is quite rare to find a W.I.T.C.H. fan who doesn't have the exact opposite opinion on ALL of these. Yet my own viewpoints on each are very strongly held.

I've decided to stop trying to give all of these posts a new name and am just going to date them from now on. Also, despite receiving a comment which suggested otherwise, I am going to keep including all of my maintenance items in one long post at a time, even if it means multiple topics in one blog post.

On screenshots
Update: The DVD releases page now has volume labels for the European releases, including the highest-quality discs from Central Europe. These labels can be used to identify DVDs regardless of the exact country of origin or packaging language.

My current plans regarding the wiki
So, I’ve been working, fairly intently, on the wiki for the last two weeks (hi) and it has been gamified with the badges so I need to write a blog post to earn a badge, so that’s what this is. I think this will ultimately end up on the public blog, which isn’t ideal as this is mostly a personal endeavour but we’ll see. (This will also be an experiment to see if a blog post adds to my daily editing total because apparently I’m going to need to edit 365 days in a row. ) So over the last few days I’ve updated the existing pages for the novelisations and made the rest (I got that template down for the last few) and am going to keep working in that vein unless someone tells me otherwise.

When the guardians change from normal humans to their fairy-like forms, the Keeper of the Heart says, "Guardians, Unite!" Then, after showing them slightly unclothed and twirling around in their elements' symbols, they announce the element that they control.
