Escape from Cavigor is the twenty-first episode of season 1 of the TV series.

Plot[]

Caleb learnt that Elyon's parents, the Browns, were being held in the forbidden underground prison at Cavigor. He and the Guardians plotted a difficult escape: while a distraction from above was going draw the guards upwards, Cornelia was going to tunnel in from the Infinite City below.

Furthermore, they were going to escape through a portal, and everyone was supposed to think that's how they got in, but one slip and Phobos would be able to discover the rebels’ secret subterranean hideout.

The plan went smoothly until Cedric and about a thousand soldiers show up, as Elyon wanted to see her adoptive parents again. Irma distracted Cedric while Hay Lin and Taranee went to warn Will. The Brown's were unfortunately drugged with hallucinogenic food in order to avoid Elyon discovering Phobos's plan. Hay Lin opened all the cell gates, but also freed the scuttlers. Taranee went to help her, and Cornelia went to help Irma. They escaped in a nick of time as the scuttlers and Cedric approached.

Comics connections[]

  • This episode borrows many elements from comic issue 10: the monstrous Scuttlers guarding the prison; the Guardians breaking into the prison from underneath with Cornelia's help; and the fact that all the prisoners were set free.

Behind the scenes[]

Trivia[]

  • The episode is reminiscent of It Resumes, in which Hay Lin was sent to find an exit and Cornelia and another Guardian (although in this episode it was Irma rather than Taranee) were sent to block the stairs to the Guardians' rescue location. Like that episode, this was used to show Will's skills as a leader.
  • Despite not having a specific elemental ability until season 2, Will is not left without offensive powers in season 1 (as is commonly assumed). In this episode, she demonstrated direct attack power when she shoots a pink beam of light from the Heart at the Scuttlers, which forced them back. Similar demonstrations occured in Divide and Conquer and The Battle of The Meridian Plains.
