Cultural Exchanges (Italian Scambio culturale) is the third Mini Special issue from the series W.I.T.C.H. Everyday. It was first published in September 2006 alongside Issue 066: Reflections and is eight pages long. The art was by Ettore Gula.[1]
Synopsis[]
A new student joined Irma, Taranee and Hay Lin's class but missed food from her home.
Plot[]
Mme. Gounoud introduced Anna, a new student who recently moved to Heatherfield, to Irma, Taranee and Hay Lin's class. Irma made a joke about what type of food she thought Anna might like but Anna heard so Irma quickly apologized and the girls introduced themselves to Anna. After class, Anna excused herself from the girls' attempts to make friends. Hay Lin noted how sad she looked and all three girls decided to make an effort to help her feel at home.
The next day, the girls noticed Anna looking sad, they asked her what the problem was. They suggested things like making friends but Anna confessed that she missed the food from her home country. The girls decided to take Anna on a food tour of Heatherfield.
First, they went to the Golden Diner where they introduced Anna to various junk foods. Second, they went to an ice cream parlor, "All Tastes", where they ate various unusual ice cream flavors. Finally, they went to The Silver Dragon.
The next day at school, Anna was feeling better having tried various local foods, and said that she particularly likes cheesecake now. Irma yelled at her to not eat her cheesecake as she ran up to join the group. Irma produced a pot which she said contained "crazy water fish", a recipe from Anna's home country but Hay Lin and Taranee worried about Irma's cooking skills. Irma opened the pot and water magically floated out. Anna remarked that the dish isn't quite as she remembered it.
