Emerald Bird (Polish Szmaragdowy Ptak) is the second novel in the Expedition series. It was written by Polish author Ewa Karwan-Jastrzębska under the pen name Eva Carvani and has illustrations by Daniela Vetro, Paolo Campinoti and Mara Damiani. It was first published in Poland in 2008 by Egmont.[1]

Synopsis[]

The students of Sheffield Institute are going on a fantastic journey to Zazu, a small village in the middle of the jungle, which hosts an annual celebration of the Living Water. The solemn ceremony of returning the Emerald Bird, associated with the appearance of a mysterious star, is disturbed by the dramatic events. The fate of the tribe is in the hands of W.I.T.C.H.: Will, Irma, Taranee, Cornelia and Hay Lin will walk the Coyote Path to cross the Red Desert and confront the powerful forces of ancient gods.[2]
