W.I.T.C.H. Wiki

These guidelines are now live. Please find the current version here.

I’ve written some editing guidelines for the wiki, though it should be clear that these aren’t final yet. Please let me know your thoughts on them! Are they clear? Are they too long? Is there anything I’m missing or that you disagree with?

I do have some specific questions in this and want your thoughts on them so please let me know in the comments.

I’m going to leave this blog post up for the next month, so until 4th December, then with feedback incorporated, add them to a proper wiki page (or two because I’m currently planning on putting the page structure section on a subpage), probably at W.I.T.C.H. Wiki:Editing guidelines and the guidelines will go into effect. This should allow all relatively active editors enough time to contribute their ideas.

Preliminary W.I.T.C.H. Wiki editing guidelines[]

To uphold standards for good articles and for consistency across the entire wiki, we have a set of editing guidelines that we ask all editors to follow. Don’t worry about making a mistake though: this is a community effort and the wiki will always be a work in progress. Someone from the community will help improve on any mistakes made!

The basics[]

These are general guidelines that will be relevant to all writing on this wiki’s articles and category pages.

When you publish an edit, please leave a useful edit summary. Please include what you changed and/or why you changed it to help other editors understand your work.

Writing style[]

All writing should be objective, meaning that should convey only facts and not opinions. For example, Irma has brown curly hair and not Irma has pretty brown hair. Curly hair is an observable is a fact whereas pretty is an opinion.

Try to be precise in your writing and avoid your own biases. Regardless of if you’re writing about your favourite or least favourite character, they should get the same impartial treatment.

Try to avoid exaggerations so that the article accurately reflects the source material.

Try to be concise. One way that this can be done is by avoiding unnecessary adjectives such as “the magical guardians sealed a portal”. Stating that the guardians have magic in this context is unnecessary as it is obvious since they are guardians. It also adds extra information, making the article harder to read – Longer isn’t always better.

All writing should be in the third person unless it is a direct quote. This means using he/she/they/it and not I/we/you.

All writing should be broken down into paragraphs. This helps with readability as long swaths of text without breaks are hard to read. A good rule of thumb of when to change paragraphs is when what you are writing about changes topic, person or location.

Tense[]

Most writing on this wiki should be in the present tense: e.g.

  • Cornelia is the guardian of Earth
  • She has blonde hair
  • She lives with her mother, father, and younger sister, Lillian

One exception to this is the {history/story/chronology/plot} section (see below for more on this name issue) which documents what a character did/what happened to a character throughout issues/episodes. Past tense should also be used in real-life articles when referring to events that happened in our past. e.g.

  • Yan Lin told the guardians about their powers
  • Irma made a joke
  • The first issue of W.I.T.C.H. was published in April 2001

Page completeness[]

Generally, when you publish an edit, please try to ensure that the page is in a presentable, finished looking state. While you may not have filled out all possible information on that topic, please make sure that you have finished your sentences and not left any empty sections, bullet points, or similar.

If it is not possible to complete a page in one edit, you may leave a note at the top of the page in the notices section (see below) which says "This page is currently being worked on by " and then link your user page. That may stay on the page for a maximum of a week after the most recent edit by the named user before it should be removed and the page tidied. This is to avoid a messy appearance and dissuading other users from contributing.

Titles and headings[]

Titles and headings should be written in sentence case, like on Wikipedia. This means writing like a normal English sentence - only the first word should have a capital letter unless it is a proper noun. e.g. The guardians of the veil

For pieces of media, such as episodes from the TV series, comic issues or books, article titles should match exactly the official English translation spelling and capitalisation used where an official English translation exists. If no official English translation exists, the title should use an English translation written in title case, to reflect the fact that it is a title. Title case gives all words that aren’t articles ("a," "an," "the"), conjunctions (e.g., "and," "but," "or") or prepositions (e.g., "on," "in," "with") a capital letter, and the first word always gets a capital letter. e.g. The Guardians of the Veil

For media that is part of a series, it can use the name of the series, or the type of instalment, followed by a colon (:) then the instalment's title. For example, Issue 001: Halloween or Yen Press 01: The Twelve Portals Vol. 1.

For media which has "W.I.T.C.H." in its title, this should generally be omitted as that is redundant information. If the media's entire title is "W.I.T.C.H.", then the title should be the type of media it is. e.g. Comics or TV series. For media which includes "W.I.T.C.H." as part of the title, where possible this should be rephrased to remove it. e.g. Yen Press Graphic Novels for "W.I.T.C.H.: The Graphic Novel" which is published by Yen Press.

In-universe pages should be titled as they are written in official media, including spelling and capitalisation.

Character pages should, where possible, be named using the character’s forename, as they are mostly called and the character’s surname – so “Matt Olsen”, not “Mathew Olsen”. If a character’s forename is not known, then the use of titles such as “Mr”, “Mrs”, “Miss”, “Ms” or “Dr” can be used instead of a forename. If characters only have one official name but also have a title, that title should be included in their page title, e.g. Lord Cedric. If characters have two or more names and a title, the title should not be included, e.g. Dean Collins, not Professor Dean Collins.

Where possible, page titles should reflect both the comics and TV series. If names vary between the two, a name that reflects both should be chosen even if it conveys less information, e.g. Susan Vandom, not Susan Vandom-Collins as the former is a name she held in both series, but the latter is not.

Heading levels should always follow from heading levels above in the article:

  • Fandom uses heading 1 (=heading 1=) to display article titles and, as such, should never be used within an article.
  • Heading 2 (==heading 2==), which on some fandom editors is simply called "Heading", should be used for all main article sections and if subsections are used, they should be directly followed by heading 3 (===heading 3===), which on some fandom editors is called "Sub-heading 1", and if further subsections are used heading 4 (====heading 4====), which on some fandom editors is called "Sub-heading 2", should be used and so forth – decreasing levels should always be one level lower than the previous.
  • Heading 4 cannot directly follow heading 2. Heading 2 must always be followed by either heading 3 or another heading 2.

This is important for accessibility reasons, especially for screen readers. For more information see here: https://www.nomensa.com/blog/2017/how-structure-headings-web-accessibility and https://usability.yale.edu/web-accessibility/articles/headings

Headings should not contain links, as these don’t display on mobile. Instead, use either the {{Main}} template directly underneath the heading to link to the main article or use a normal link in the main body of text.

Headings should not be set entirely in italics or bold styling.

Categories[]

Categories are used for collecting like pages or pages on similar topics. They are not to be used in the same way as hashtags where any possible relevant element is used.

Category names should be derived from article titles where possible and match exactly the spelling and capitalisation.

There are different categories for different types of wiki content - like articles, images, and templates – and should not be interchanged, meaning that image categories should not be used for articles or templates. Most categories are for use in articles. Image categories can usually be differentiated as they often start with “images of” or “images from”, for example Category:Images of Will Vandom.

Category pages should have a short description of what the category is used for, and with exception of the root category, Category:Browse, be placed in another category.

Links[]

The first time a person/place/item with a page on the wiki is mentioned on a page, that article should be linked with an internal link. On longer pages, articles should be linked the first time they appear under each level 2 heading.

Generally, links do not need any extra styling, such as bold, italics or quotation marks.

References[]

This wiki is focused on official material & media and to help ensure all material on canon pages of this wiki reflects the reality of the media, and is not a misconception or someone’s headcanon, all material should be sourced.

When writing about an in-universe character, location, item or concept, all information should come from issues, episodes, books or the video game. Please, at a bare minimum when creating your reference, link to the page for the episode/issue/book from which you got your information. As additional information, you may want to include a timestamp or page number and the particular translation to help others track down exactly where your information is from.

For example: <ref>It Begins</ref>

<ref>Issue 001: Halloween, Yen Press 01: The Twelve Portals Vol. 01, page 11</ref>

In some cases, a creator/artist/writer/etc may have stated additional information about a character/location/etc. If you want to include this information on a page, you can reference what they said, but it should be noted on the page that it is word-of-god information and did not appear in the source material.

e.g. Greg Weisman has stated that he believes Nerissa to be bisexual, but no official material directly confirms this.<ref> https://www.s8.org/gargoyles/askgreg/search.php?qid=20506, archived version</ref>

For real-world information, like information about books, DVD releases and creators, all information should still be sourced but will have to be sourced from outside the wiki, and usually from other websites. When using websites as sources, please consider if it is trustworthy, as false information can be published.

When referencing a website, please link to the website. It is strongly recommended that, in case a website goes down or is changed, you also archive it on a tool like The Way Back Machine and include that link in your reference too:

<ref>https://example.com, archived version</ref>

Language[]

W.I.T.C.H. is popular internationally, but this wiki is in English, and good English should be used. This wiki doesn’t currently specify which international variation of English is used (i.e. American vs British English). We ask that within each section it remains consistent to avoid distracting the reader.

Alongside spelling variations, how dates are written varies internationally. To avoid confusion, please write dates using the full word for the month.

For example, 10/11/12 could be

  • 10th November 2012
  • 11th October 2012
  • 12th November 2010

For example, writing both 5th April 2002 and April 5th 2002 are acceptable on this wiki, though we ask that within each section it remains consistent to avoid distracting the reader.

Translations[]

As W.I.T.C.H. is not originally an English language property, there are many different translations for some aspects of the series.

For the comics, I propose we use the translation that Yen Press uses, as that translation is the longest that has been officially published in English, and currently the most accessible official translation. (Let me know if you disagree in the comments.) While not all issues have an official translation to date, fan translations will have to make do for now.

The TV series was originally made in English and hence there is only one version, but where names differ between the two, we should choose which one will take precedence – Let me know your preference in the comics.

One key spelling difference is Kandrakar vs Candracar. Generally, the spelling "Kandrakar" should be used.

Some earlier English translations used "Candracar" and it should only be used for articles on media which used that spelling such as the Chapter Books and the Hyperion Graphic Novels. All other pages, including the TV series, should use Kandrakar, as that spelling is the original from the Italian comics and used in the credits of the TV series. The Kandrakar page should have a note about the difference in translation.

Characters should generally be referred to by the main name they go by most often in the series:

  • Characters who are mostly referred to by nicknames, rather than their full names should generally be referred to by their nicknames rather than their full names, e.g. Matt Olsen should generally be referred to as Matt and not Mathew.
  • Characters who have nicknames which they are sometimes referred to should not generally be referred to by their nicknames e.g. write Cornelia rather than Corny.
  • Will should generally be referred to as Will, as that is the name she usually goes by, and not Wilma or Wilhelmina, though she may be referred to as Wilhelmina to differentiate her from her brother who should generally be referred to as William.

Consistency in stylisation & terminology[]

Generally, phrases used, such as in articles or for categories, should, where possible be derived from page titles. As such, because the page is called TV series, articles should not refer to “TV show” “television series”, “animated series”, “Cartoons” or similar.

Individual instalments of the comics should only be referred to as issues, not chapters, volumes, magazines, etc.

Story arcs of the comics should only be referred to as arcs, not sagas.

Additionally, the name of this franchise should always be written as W.I.T.C.H. and not:

  • W.i.t.c.h. (as the logo is stylised)
  • W.I.T.C.H (without the final dot)
  • WITCH (with no dots)

When “W.I.T.C.H.” is at the end of a sentence, the correct way to write this is “W.I.T.C.H.” with one dot at the end, not “W.I.T.C.H..” with two dots.

(These are all derived from page titles, but if someone has strong opinions about this, they can be changed.)

Terms not used within official media should be avoided where an official term can be used, like referring to Irma’s powers as hydrokinesis or Will’s power as aether. While these can be useful on pages for the power itself to explain or compare, use on other pages can be confusing or be redundant information that bloats the page unnecessarily.

Races[]

On this wiki, “race” is a term used to describe the ethnicity of human characters (and characters who look human but are not from Earth). While in some fantasy settings, the term race can refer to groups like humans, elves, dwarves and orcs, those would be referred to on this wiki with the term species to avoid confusion between the two.

For example:

  • Cornelia’s species is human and her race is White
  • Blunk’s species is passling and, as no groupings equivalent to race are known in official material, he should not have a race listed
  • Caleb’s species in the comics is whisperer and, despite not being human he has the features of a White person so his race can be listed as White

Since the comics are implied to take place in Europe and no official location of Heatherfield was confirmed in either the TV series or the comics, racial terms which include “American” are not usually appropriate. Instead of using African American for fictional characters, use Black.

Characters who are racially ambiguous or are coded with different races in the TV series and comics should have this noted with a list of possible applicable racial terms.

  • E.g. Irma is coded Latina/Hispanic in the TV show but not the comics
  • Will and her mother may be coded non-white, but their race is never fully clarified and various possibilities have been suggested within the fandom, such as White, Mexican, Puerto Rican and Arab.

It is also acceptable to list their race as "ambiguous".

Page structure[]

This section is about which sections a page should have, at a minimum, though some pages will have other sections that are not listed here, for example, the page for Sheffield Institute has sections on its staff and students which is a section not relevant to other locations but important for the school.

Elements are marked either necessary or optional which states whether a section must be used or not.

Within this structure, if information differs between the TV series and comics, they should be held under two subsections, TV series and Comics.

General Page Structure[]

This is the order of sections that are relevant to all pages of all types.

Notices (optional)[]

Notice templates should always be at the very top of the page as these tell the reader about the contents of the page which they may need to know going in.

The two most common templates you may need to use are {{stub}} and {{wikipedia}}.

This section will also include links to disambiguation pages and disambiguation notes to link to other similarly-named pages. While there is currently no template for these notes, the following structure should be used:

This is W.I.T.C.H.ipedia's article on the {page topic}. For other uses, see {the disambiguation page}

Or

This is W.I.T.C.H.ipedia's article on the {page topic}. For {specific similarly named page description}, see {link to other page}

This section should not have its own heading.

Infoboxes (required except for list pages and sub-pages)[]

An infobox is the box that appears at the top right of the page with basic information in bulleted form. Full sentences should not be used here.

Most pages require an infobox. (The exception is for list pages as they are not about a single object and subpages where this information is on the main page). While not all fields are relevant to all pages, as many as possible should be filled out.

To see what infoboxes are available, please see Category:Infoboxes

All information in the infobox should also be somewhere in the main article text so the information here does not need to be referenced.

This section should not have its own heading.

Lede[]

This is a short paragraph which should briefly describe the topic of the article and that will be the first thing most people read on most pages.

The lede should stand on its own as a short overview of the article's topic. It should identify the topic of the article and where it fits into the W.I.T.C.H. franchise.

At the start of the first sentence, the name of the focus of the page should be used any be in bold. This should generally be the same as the page title. It does not need any other stylings such as italics or quotation marks. If it is not possible the write this as the first word, the using it as soon as possible at the start of the sentence is also excepted.

For example, on the page Heart of Kandrakar, saying “The Heart of Kandrakar is…” is also acceptable.

This section should not have its own heading.

Main body of text (required)[]

This will comprise most of the article and vary between article types. More information on which article types need what sections here can be seen below.

This information should have supporting images and references.

This section should not have its own heading but be comprised of many sections that have their own headings.

Quotes (optional)[]

Quotes from or about the topic of the page may be included here. For example, quotes said by Hay Lin or quotes about Hay Lin can be included in this section on Hay Lin’s page.

All quotes should use either the {{quote}} or {{Multi Quote}} templates, depending on the number of speakers.

Quotes should exactly match the wording from the source material.

Trivia (optional)[]

If there is trivia that does not fit into the rest of the article, it should be included in this section in the form of a bulleted list. This information should still have references.

Gallery (optional)[]

Some articles may have lots of images that don’t all fit in the main body of text, and a gallery is used instead. For pages with lots of additional images, a separate page should be created to hold these images in the format [Main article title]/Gallery and be linked here. For pages with fewer images, these can be part of the main article.

For character’s galleries, all images should be categorised so that a DPL (DynamicPageLayaout) call can be used.

The following mark-up can be used to show images of Miranda:

<dpl>
namespace = File
category  = Images of Miranda
format    = <gallery hideaddbutton="true">,%PAGE%\n,,</gallery>
allowcachedresults = true
</dpl>

To combine categories, such as Images of Will and Images from the TV series, use this line instead of the above category line

category  = Images of Will Vandom&Images from the TV series

Where relevant, images should be split into categories, by the medium (comics, TV series and everything else including concept and promotional art). Since switching to DynamicPageLayaout galleries, organising by form (e.g. Guardian vs civilian) should no longer be done as it requires too many DPL calls on one page.

References (required)[]

While references should be used throughout the article, this section is where they will display. The only thing that needs to be done here is the <references /> tag.

For more information on how to reference, see the references section above.

See also (optional)[]

Links to other relevant pages, either around the wiki or elsewhere on the web can be linked here.

Navboxes (required where possible)[]

These are the boxes that appear on the bottom of the page with links to related pages.

Unlike other sections, there should be no subheading for this section as Fandom prevents navboxes from appearing on mobile.

To see which navboxes are on the wiki, see Category:Navbox

Interlanguage links (required where possible)[]

If an equivalent page can be found on a W.I.T.C.H. wiki in another language, it should be linked here. See fandom’s page on how to do this: https://community.fandom.com/wiki/Help:Interlanguage_link

Unlike other sections, there should be no subheading for this.

Main body of text by page type[]

This should be most of the content on the page and will vary by page type.

Characters[]

Character pages should have the following sections:

Appearance (required)[]

This section should briefly describe a character’s physical appearance with features like their species (if not human), race, eye and hair colours. If they wear only one or two outfits or wear one outfit frequently (i.e. guardian outfits) these should be described. If a character wears various outfits, their general fashion sense should be described.

Personality (required)[]

This section should briefly describe a character’s personality and their major character traits.

Plot (required)[]

This section should give a detailed description of the plot as it relates to the character. It should describe what a character did.

It should describe events in the order that they happened in-universe, not the order which they were revealed to the audience. e.g.

Use Elyon was born a princess in Meridian but was brought to Earth […] She attended school with Cornelia.

NOT

Elyon attended school with Cornelia but was secretly a princess from Meridian.

This section has several names across the wiki on different articles and we need to decide on one name for it. I chose plot here, but I’m not convinced this is what it should be called. Other options I have seen used on the wiki include:

  • History
  • Story
  • Chronology

Let me know your preference in the comments, even if it's not one of the above options

Powers and abilities (required where applicable)[]

If a character has magical powers or other abilities, such as fighting skills, they should be listed here in bullet-point form. If a power has its own page, it should be linked, otherwise, it should have a brief explanation of no more than a sentence.

Where applicable, powers and abilities can be split into two subheadings under the main heading. If a character has no powers, the main heading for this section can be changed to “Abilities”.

Where applicable, a subsection called “Weaknesses” should be included.

Relationships (required)[]

This section should detail the relationships the page’s character has with other characters. This section should be split into three main sections: “Romantic”, “Friendships” and “Familial” though other sections may be appropriate, and not all sections may be needed for every character. Under each subheading, a further subheading should be used for each character (or group) mentioned.

Appearances (required)[]

This section should include all the media that the character appeared in. Generally, this section should be broken down with subheadings for each type of media (comics, TV series, manga, books) and, except for the TV Series, should be a bulleted list with each appearance in order, possibly split down into further sections by, for example, comic arcs. For the TV series, there is a template for this {{AppearTV}}.

For characters who appeared in every, or nearly every, episode/issue/etc, it is acceptable to write that. E.g.

  • Will Vandom appeared in every issue of the comic books
  • Blunk appeared in every episode of season one except for It Begins

For this section, lists will be taken at face value and does not need to be referenced.

Locations[]

Location pages should have the following sections:

History (required where known)[]

The history of the location should be detailed here, in the order in which it happened in-universe and not the order in which it was revealed to the audience. This section should work though a location’s origins through to its plot significance in the story.

Locations (required where relevant)[]

If a location has any sublocations (Cities have buildings and building have individual rooms) these should be detailed with a subsection each. If a sublocation has its own page on the wiki already, that page should be linked with the {{main}} template and the subsection should only be a brief summary and up to one image.

Locations within a location within the location of the page should not be listed. For example, The Silver Dragon should not be listed on Earth’s page as it is in Heatherfield, and not Earth directly.

Appearances (required)[]

This section should include all the media that the location appeared in. Generally, this section should be broken down with subheadings for each type of media (comics, TV series, manga, books) and, except for the TV Series, should be a bulleted list with each appearance in order, possibly split down into further sections with, for example, comic arcs. For the TV series, there is a template for this {{AppearTV}}.

For locations that appeared in every, or nearly every, episode/issue/etc, it is acceptable to write that.

For this section, lists will be taken at face value and does not need to be referenced.

Media[]

Pages about individual pieces of media, such as comic issues, episodes or book should have the following sections:

Synopsis (required)[]

This should be a brief summary of the media. It should generally only be a few sentences long and not reveal the entire plot. This description should be akin to the description on the back of a book or websites where books are sold. Where possible, official summaries should be used.

For this section, description will be taken at face value and does not need to be referenced, though official summaries can be.

Plot summary (required in media with a plot)[]

For media with an original plot, this section should describe in detail the entire plot.

It should generally describe events in the order that they were presented to the audience. In media where A and B plots are mostly separate, these may be separated into labelled subsections.

It should not transcribe all details, conversations and gags from the original media.

For this section, description will be taken at face value and does not need to be referenced.

Content summary (required for original media without plot)[]

For media where there is original content that is not story-based, such as the Guidebooks and some Special issues, the type of content included should be described.

For this section, description will be taken at face value and does not need to be referenced.

List of content (required for media which collects other media)[]

For media which collects content from other sources, such as graphic novels which collect comic issues, these should be listed. This heading may be changed to better reflect the content, such as changing the subheading for a graphic novel to say “Issues” instead.

For this section, description will be taken at face value and does not need to be referenced.

Adaptational changes (required for media which is adapted from another source)[]

Where media is adapted from another piece of W.I.T.C.H. media, such as the chapter books, manga issues or some episodes of the TV series, the changes made should be described.

For this section, description will be taken at face value and does not need to be referenced.

This heading title is one I’m unsure about so if anyone can think of a better one, please tell me.

Reception (optional)[]

If there are publicly known facts about how well-liked, both by critics and the general public, these can be included here. While it can include fan consensus, it should not include personal opinions of the writer.

Appearances (required for original media)[]

This section should list all characters, locations & items that appear, in the appropriate subheadings. Where possible, each character/location/item should be linked.

For this section, lists will be taken at face value and does not need to be referenced.

For media which is a combination of other media, such as graphic novels or DVDs, this section should not be included as that information should already be on another page of the wiki and does not need to be repeated.

Characters[]

Characters should be listed in a bulleted list. Where possible, their forename and family name should be used and generally use the same version of their name as their article title.

They may be split into appropriate subheadings such as “Main Characters”, “Minor Characters”, “Villains”, etc. Where appropriate, notes about their appearance may be included in brackets e.g.

  • Will Vandom (first appearance)
  • Irma Lair (final appearance)
  • Taranee Cook (Cameo)
  • Cornelia Hale (mentioned only)
  • Hay Lin (flashback)
Locations[]

Locations should be listed in a bulleted list and grouped into secondary bulleted lists reflecting their overall location. e.g.

If, for example, an entire piece of media takes place in Heatherfield, Earth does not need to be mentioned.

Items[]

Unlike characters and locations, items should meet a notability threshold to be listed. Items should be either relevant to the plot in that episode/issue/etc or already have their own page on this wiki. This is to avoid long lists of bland objects, like furniture.

Credits (optional)[]

If many people were involved in the making of that piece of media, their names and roles should be listed here. For media with only a few people involved, such as novels, which typically only have one author listed, they should be mentioned in that article’s lede.

For media which is a combination of other media, such as graphic novels or DVDs, this section may not need to be included as that information should already be on another page of the wiki and does not need to be repeated. The combined edition may have extra credits which should still be included.

Alternate editions/titles (optional)[]

For media which has been translated into different languages or had multiple releases, a list of the countries in which it was released, a list of alternate titles and a gallery of alternate covers may be included here.

This section also needs a better name – please let me know if you can think of one

Errors (optional)[]

If the media has mistakes, they can be listed here.

For this section, description will be taken at face value and does not need to be referenced.

For media which is a combination of other media, such as graphic novels or DVDs, this section may not be included as the information should already be on another page of the wiki and does not need to be repeated. The combined edition may introduce new errors that weren’t in the originals and these errors should still be listed.

Series[]

Pages about series, including the comics as a whole, comics arcs, television seasons, and book series should have the following sections:

Summary (optional)[]

A brief summary of the content in the series can be included, though this can sometimes be included in the lede. This heading, where relevant can be changed to content summary or plot summary.

For this section, description will be taken at face value and does not need to be referenced.

Media (required)[]

This section should list all elements included in the series. It can be a link to a separate page if the series has many pieces of media.

The heading name should be changed to reflect the media. For the comics, this should be changed to “Issues”.

Real People[]

Location pages should have the following sections:

Work before W.I.T.C.H. (optional)[]

This should detail any professional work they had before working on W.I.T.C.H.

Work on W.I.T.C.H. (required)[]

This section should detail what type of work they did on W.I.T.C.H. and list which pieces of W.I.T.C.H. media they worked on.

Work after W.I.T.C.H. (optional)[]

This section should detail any professional work they did after working on W.I.T.C.H.

Personal life (optional)[]

This section should describe any publicly-known information about their personal life.

Groups[]

Pages for groups should have the following sections:

Pictures and videos[]

When uploading files, please make sure that they have a sensible name, relevant to the picture. If you’re not sure what to call it, use the name of the character, object or location pictured, or what’s happening.

While you may upload pictures of any sort for use on your user page, blog posts or in the comments, please keep the pictures used in canon articles to be from official media. These images should accurately reflect the source material and as such should have minimal editing.

Screenshots from the TV series should be of DVD quality and generally remain unedited. This means that they should remain in their original size of 768x576px. For more information on this see here: User_blog:Modernponderer/On_screenshots

For other media, such as the comics, manga and video game, some minor edits such as cropping images and blanking out text in speech bubbles are allowed.

Generally, images should not be watermarked, either by TV logos, editing software or users who made the images, however, artists' signatures and official Disney (and similar) markings are permitted.

When adding new images, it is recommended that you search through existing images before uploading new ones.

Code[]

Where possible, in articles, do not use any HTML or CSS code, but stick with wikitext. This makes it easier for a new or more casual editor to contribute.

For templates, HTML and CSS are permitted as casual editors are less likely to encounter it. Try to only use HTML5 and CSS3 elements so that it will display correctly on all devices.

User pages & blog posts[]

The above requirements don’t apply to user pages or blog posts, but all content there should be kept safe for work and friendly to other users. Links to NSFW pages elsewhere online are permitted but should be labelled as such.
